The art that no one knew
Among the films that reach us there are some that for different reasons cannot be considered as "amateur", but they cannot be considered as entirely "professional". However, as their number increases, we see that gradually a very interesting "body" of lost or ignored so far films is being formed. And it’s something that we do not want to bypass and we feel obliged not to show indifference towards it.
One of these lost films "The art that no one knew", a cartoon, was shot in 1971 in 16mm, by the set designer Spyros Papayiannis and the ethnologist Emmanuel Papazachariou. We tracked it down a year ago, it was restored with the help of the Greek Film Archive, it became digital and this year ,at the end of June, it is on the "online films" platform where you can watch it.
We hope that we will be back soon with more information about the film and perhaps even an interview with the film makers.
